The Watermark Warriors, our team from The Watermark at East Hill, will be participating again in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 30th at Western Connecticut State University. The team has been busy hosting fundraisers and gathering donations to make a difference for the Alzheimer’s Association and for the millions of Americans living with the disease as well as their families.
Why is the team walking again this year? It’s simple really. The Watermark at East Hill cares for and serves many residents living with Alzheimer’s and other memory related diseases including residents who live in The Villa, our exclusive memory care community. In The Villa, residents benefit from a unique experience. With just 14 residents in The Villa, it truly is personal. Residents participate in all of their daily living activities including cooking and baking together. This approach not only encourages independence but also creates a strong sense of family and of meaningful connections. Supported by universal caregivers known as Nayas, residents enjoy one-on-one attention, a supportive and caring environment, and specific programming to maintain wellness and quality of life. The Villa is a special place for those in need of memory care.
The work of the Alzheimer’s Association is near and dear to the hearts of everyone working at East Hill and the team is proud to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. We walk for our residents. We walk for those who are living with the disease. We walk for the caregivers. We walk for the families. We walk for those lost. We walk for those who will be diagnosed. We walk for each other. We walk for you.
